VALLEY OF PRAISE PRAYER GUIDE
DECEMBER 08
Thank you for praying for the Conference on 29th November. The worship was fantastic and we have received such encouraging feedback from those who attended, of people being healed, given fresh vision for the Valley and for evangelism.
Rachel Hickson encouraged us to go ‘Treasurer Hunting’. There are so many people around us who we rub shoulders with every day that are His ‘special treasures’, they just have not been found yet! Rachel urged us to wait on God for prophetic words for people that will awaken the treasure within. (CD,s can be purchased from the two sessions for just £8)
Focus - Soul Winning
John 4:35-38
Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: 'One sows and another reaps.' 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors."
Jesus is sending us this Christmas to “reap that for which we have not laboured.”
Let us pray together this month, that as the Gospel goes forth up and down the Valley through all the different Christmas celebrations and activities, when churches often double the size of their normal congregations for their carol services, that people will have Holy Ghost revelations about Him who came to save them.
Pray for a ‘Soul winners fire’ to descend on the church and that there will be fresh revelation about that harvest that is waiting to be reaped.
Pray for a new boldness to come upon the Church to fearlessly proclaim the ‘Good News’ over this season. “He that wins souls is wise.” Prov. 11:30
We wish you a very Happy Christmas and blessed New Year

24 hours a day 7 days a week Prayer for Berkhamsted
Prayer Guide No 72 November 2008
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night nor of the arrow by day.
A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand but it shall not come near you because you have made the LORD your refuge.” Ps91:1,5,7,9
CRIME IN BERKHAMSTED
God has answered many prayers over the years resulting in the lowering of the crime rate in the area.
Gazette April 2008, crime in Berkhamsted was at its lowest since records began and police had seen the biggest drop in reported incidents in the county.
However recent reports show an increase in crime again, so we are called to continue praying for God’s protection over Berkhamsted and Tring, for the police investigating these crimes and for the ambulance services. Pray too for individuals involved and for the families of those who have been bereaved.
· 16th September Armed robbery at Tesco in Tring. Detective Chief Insp. Mike Hanlon of Bed and Herts from the Major Crime Unit is investigating.
· Gazette Oct 8th The body of a teenager was found on a bridge in Berkhamsted.
· Gazette Oct 15th Armed robbery at Cow Roast garage. The cashier was attacked and the offender took cash. The cashier sustained minor injuries.
· 70 knives were handed over in Berkhamsted and Tring from Oct 1 to 15. Police set up deposit bins at police stations across the county to encourage people to drop off blades throughout October as part of a campaign against knife crime.
· Oct 20th A young teenager was knocked over by a car in Shrublands road.
· Serious car accidents on the bypass. Pray for protection of all drivers.
Continue to pray for the police force in Hertfordshire, especially God’s protection and presence for Jerry Alford, Area Commander for West Herts and his family. Pray too for other christian police, including Nigel Brown and his son Mark (NBC) that they would be a witness to other colleagues. ***call to pray - see attachment***
MARKET STALL – please pray for Christians at the market stall outside Tesco. God is calling us to move outside the four walls of church buildings onto the streets to demonstrate Christ’s love in action, showing kindness and praying with people. Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

PRAY FOR THE ECONOMY – there is no recession in heaven
Prayer that those in Berkhamsted will “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where thieves do not break in and steal, for where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” Matt 6:20,21
Encouraging prophetic words from Wendy Alec of God TV
And the Lord said, “Tell My people that they do not have to fear. Things will get rough, things will get turbulent, but I will keep them safe in the eye of the storm.
For those who truly love the Lord, those who have served Him and set their heart on Him, and those who have their substances set on the Lord, as the eye of the storm passes across your life, your finances, your mortgages will be protected by the Lord.
The Lord is going to keep you, He is not going to let you down, He will not forsake you, He truly is with you and you will see His provision, you will see His love and you will see what you have intact in His day.”
THE WAY INN
Thank God for answered prayer and also continue to pray for the needs of the Way Inn.
Thank God for Mike Tatum, a Director and Trustee who will be working 3 days a week at the Way Inn over the next 3 months overseeing the changes that are taking place.
The Way Inn is being supported by our prayers at this critical time of change. Pray for every decision made, that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven as the Trustees and Directors endeavour to uprade and modernise the Way Inn. May God’s name be honoured in decision-making.
Urgent prayer requests
Mike will be meeting the agent next week to discuss the sale of the Post Office. Please pray for this meeting, that God’s will be done regarding the possible sale of the Post Office. Pray for God’s will for the proposed lease, that the conditions required be met and for right response from the possible purchaser. There is a need for good legal advice. Pray for the right person to give advice re changes to the Way Inn’s legal structure, esp regarding its charitable status.
· Pray for premises for the counselling service who are at present in temporary accommodation.
· Pray for the proposed structural changes to the building, for finances and God’s way forwards.
· Pray for finances each month to pay the bills.

Valley of Praise Guide for November
VALLEY OF PRAISE PRAYER GUIDE
For November 08
FOCUS – THE CHURCH – Love in action
Jesus said, 2 Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you.” Jn 15:12-14 Message
Let us focus this month on our church leaders, including deacons, elders, parish council, church workers of various kinds, worship leaders, choir, admin. staff etc. Praying Col.1:9-12 into their lives.
Pray for the church as it reaches out into society with special ministries to hospitals, prisons, care homes, schools etc. Pray for every Christian in the Valley that their light will shine and the kingdom will come in their respective worlds of work, play and home life.
Pray that the Church will deepen its commitment to prayer and never cease to call upon the Lord. Is.62:6 That every initiative into the community will be soaked in prayer.
Pray for such revival amongst the young people in our churches that they will mightily impact their friends in school, college and work place.
Please pray for the Valley of Praise Conference with Rachel Hickson ‘Pressing In For More’ on 29th November in Haven House Hemel Hempstead
Luke 16:16-17
"The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.
Please pray that we will all rise up in passionate pursuit of God and that the people in the valley will rise up and come to the conference and be encouraged. Some thoughts on the meaning of passionate pursuit.
Passionate pursuit of God in:
Ø Prayer warfare
Ø Praise warfare
Ø Preaching
Confrontation with the demonic in prayer and praise and declaration
Expectation of the miraculous
Burning heart for evangelism
Willingness to surrender one’s self interests to gain God’s Kingdom goals
God says that the people will be willing in the day of His power – these are the days of His power
Please pray:
· That the people will arise in the day of His power and hear God’s word for the Valley
Ps 110:2-3
2 The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies!
3 Your people shall be volunteers
In the day of Your power;

October Prayer Guide for the Valley
Valley of Praise
Prayer Focus for October – The Economy in the Market Place
If ever there was a time to realise that we cannot put our trust in the world and its systems, it must be now with what is happening in the banking world. We are reminded of the Word in Exodus 15 where God reveals to His people Israel, His name ‘Jehovah Rophi’ (I am the Lord that Heals you) that, “I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought to the Egyptians.” We usually lift up His name Jehovah Rophi for our sicknesses, but now is the time to lift it up over our finances!
Pray for Christians in business to have fresh revelation about Kingdom economics and that by faith they move into new realms of prosperity. Pray that they will know the timings of God in their decision making and experience divine opportunities and initiatives.
Pray for the leaders of our nation and those who hold positions of authority within the financial and business sectors that they will make wise decisions and have the courage to do what is right as they face this time of economic crisis.
“I (King Solomon) ask that you give me an obedient heart so I can rule the people in the right way and will know the difference between right and wrong.”
THANKSGIVING: Give thanks that God has caused so many gifted and dedicated Christians to be appointed to leadership positions right across society. Pray that they will grow in wisdom and grace and be a godly influence upon the life of our nation at this time.
RACHEL HICKSON CONFERENCE Saturday 29TH NOV.
Pray that it will be a catalyst to release a new wave of prayer and praise right across the Chilterns.
Please pray that God’s glory will fill the Valley of Praise and that there we will be such a release of signs and wonders and miracles and healings like never before – and that there will be such BREAKTHOUGH AND FRUIT as a result of the conference –
WE WANT TO SEE REVIVAL IN THE VALLEY OF PRAISE
WE WANT TO SEE THE HARVEST OF SOULS RELEASED IN THE VALLEY

Arise, shine; For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

Ps 110:3
Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning,
You have the dew of Your youth.

VALLEY OF PRAISE

Declaration over Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire, arise shine for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His Glory shall be seen upon you.
You shall know that the Lord is your Saviour, and your Redeemer, the Mighty one of Jacob.
May the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of Him be upon the people of Hertfordshire. I declare that the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of your calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in you and the exceeding greatness of His power towards you.
I declare that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father in the Heavenly realms, far above every principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this age but also in that which is to come and declare His reign over Hertfordshire.
I declare that this is a new season, a season of harvest, of righteousness and of transformation
I release the Kingdom of God in our County
I release the love of the Heavenly Father to the people who live here.
I release financial provision, healings and miracles in the Name of Jesus Christ
I call up your volunteers for this day of Your power and

Valley of Praise August Prayer Guide
August Prayer Guide
Isa 35:5-7
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool,
And the thirsty land springs of water;
In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,
There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
Praise God for the outpouring of his Glory releasing the miraculous and healings in the Valley and in our nation! God impressed on me today that this level of Glory and the miraculous is upon us and all we have to do is lay hold of it by faith! Praise God – these are the times of the ‘Greater Glory’, God is preparing his bride. Please pray that all the Leaders, Churches and Christians will reach out for their inheritance,
Prayer Focus – Education – one of the mind-moulders of our society
“Go into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted world. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God.” Phil. 2:15 Message Bible
Remember teenagers who will receive important exam results at this time and ask god to give wisdom to those who are unsure what their next step should be. Pray that many in this age group will be inspired to serve and bring transformation to our society; that it would become more committed to values of truth, purity and love.
Pray for all the staff in the schools that they will have a good break and come back next term with a fresh vision to mould pliable minds in positive pure ways.
Pray for students as they commence a new school year that they will happily settle in to their new classes and schools and that it will be a positive change in their education programme.
Pray for Christian School staff, governors, advisors and those who are invited to lead assemblies, contribute lessons, engage in pastoral care and Christian activities. Ask God to help them live out their faith and demonstrate the love of Christ in all they do.

BERKHAMSTED WATCHMEN ON THE WALL
BERKHAMSTED WATCHMEN ON THE WALL
24 hours a day 7 days a week Prayer for Berkhamsted
Prayer Guide No 68 – July 2008
Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the LORD will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
It would be wonderful if as many of us who can join together at
7:30 am every morning – united prayer just for three minutes to proclaim these words over the Valley of Praise.
All over Hertfordshire prayer warriors are doing the same thing over Herts. There is great power in our united declaration, so let’s go for it!
As we pray in agreement with God’s will and with each other, and declare God’s truth, He answers and we see a change in our circumstances. Prayer has made a difference in Berkhamsted and will continue to do so as we spend time in the secret place pleading with God on behalf of friends, family, the church, neighbours, the town.
Pray for the unity of the body of Christ in Berkhamsted, expecting to see change and a coming together of the true church.
· Jesus prayed that “they all may be one, as You Father are in Me and I in You that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” John 17:21
· Pray that the denominational differences won’t be a barrier to unity, that there will be a working together, sharing resources, pooling ideas, encouraging one another, better communication between churches, shared outreach.
· Pray for unity and fellowship between the church leaders and youth leaders.
· Pray that each worshipping community will consider the needs of other church groups in the town.
· Pray that barriers of isolation, denominationalism, rivalry, disunity will be broken down.
· Pray for a coming together of the church, for friendships across the church.
· Pray for the monthly prayer breakfast at which approx 30 people from different churches meet each month to pray for the needs of the town.
· “If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.” 1 Cor 12:26,27
Way Inn
Continue to pray for decisions being made by Directors and Trustees of the Way Inn. They are in the process of trying to sell the lease for the Post Office and ground floor but uncertainties about the future of the Post Office are causing delays in the sale of the lease.
Other premises are being sought to relocate the Way Inn in the High St. but an offer has been refused.
We need to pray for the future of the Way Inn and that the right decisions are made regarding the sale of the Post Office and ground floor.
Pray also for new Trustees and Directors to come forward.
Berkhamsted Town Hall
Pray about the evening of clairvoyance on July 14th at the Town Hall.
Medium Stephen Holbrook holds meetings every night of the week across the UK.

We declare that the Lord reigns, ‘Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool’ Ps 110
‘God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father’ Phil 2:9,10
Pray for Stephen Holbrook ‘We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.’ Eph 6:12
Pray for the cleansing of the Town Hall from every evil activity. God’s Holy Spirit is Lord of the Town Hall.

24 hours a day 7 days a week Prayer for Berkhamsted
Prayer Guide No 68 – July 2008
Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the LORD will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.

Valley of Praise Guide for July
Valley of Praise – Prayer Guide no 8
Focus for July – Arts, Entertainment and Sport
“Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy- meditate on these things.” Phil 4:8
Pray for a fresh infusion into our culture of ideals of excellence, truth and courage and beauty, to replace the growing number of trivial, sexually explicit and decadent ideas and images featuring in some of our media and popular music.
Pray that Christian song writers, performers and others in the music industry will increasingly apply the reality of personal faith to their work; maintaining their integrity, achieving excellence in all they do and living in a way that honours God and relies on His ability.
Pray for all those who are studying to develop their creative gifts in music, art, design, literature, sport, athletics, media and other forms of communication and culture. Pray for their teachers and others who are seeking to help them discover the full potential you have placed in their lives.
Almost 2 million people are employed in creative occupations in Great Britain. We have the largest creative sector in the EU and, comparatively speaking in the world. (Department of culture media and sport)
Let’s continue to press in for revival in the Valley of Praise and to pray for signs, wonders, healings and the miraculous to break out in all the revival meetings going on in the region. Please pray for boldness for all the Christians to rise up and declare the Good News of the Gospel.
Luke 16:16-17
The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.
Acts 4:29-30
Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus."

Valley of Praise Guide for June
Focus for June
Dear Friends and Partners before the Throne,
We do apologise for the lateness of this letter but we were in The Florida Outpouring two weeks ago and last week we were at our denominational Conference in Prestatyn.
Isaiah 60:1-3
Arise, shine;

And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,

FOCUS ON MARRIAGE AND THE FAMILY
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your ideal of marriage in which a man and a woman can live together in love and mutual dependence as equals. We pray for engaged and newly married couples to learn to love and increasingly understand one another, generously sharing what they have.”
Pray for Christian marriages and families to be beacons of encouragement in our communities, causing many in the next generation to see a lifestyle of lifelong fidelity and commitment as preferable to the uncertain future experienced by many couples living in a co-habiting relationship.
Remember those who are unhappily married – especially people who are suffering abuse and feel too paralysed to take any action. Ask God to help them, through His presence and the support and prayers of family and friends and others who offer advice and assistance.
Pray for couples facing issues of unfaithfulness, whether through illicit relationships, the use of pornography or other activities. Pray that they will find effective help as individuals and together – not giving up but determined to repent, forgive and restore their loving relationship.
Pray for the families of couples who are in a second marriage. Ask God to give these parents patience, understanding, wisdom and love for stepchildren as they adapt to this new situation. Pray too for children who are adopted and fostered.
Upcoming Meetings –
Wednesday 11th June Florida Outpouring Meeting 8.00pm Pitstone Memorial Hall
Friday 4th July – Harp and Bowl Pitstone 8.00pm
Saturday 5th July – Harp and Bowl Hemel Hempstead 6.00pm – 10.00pm

FOCUS FOR MAY – The Church in the Valley
Acts 4:24, 29-31
You have no doubt heard of the fresh wave of the Spirit with miraculous healings
that has started in Lakeland, Florida, which is already spreading rapidly across the Western World. (See God Channel every night from 9pm).
The beginning of April in Dubai, we witnessed praise and worship in church like we have rarely seen which was accompanied by many remarkable healings.
Vanessa went with three other ladies to Dudley last Wednesday night to witness the outbreak of worship and healing that is taking place there and to receive an impartation that could be passed on to us. Lexie Thompson visited Dudley last Sunday and prayed for the Harp and Bowl team on Monday with dramatic effect!
There has been such a great dryness in the Church over recent years which is awakening such a thirst for more of God in so many hearts. So many here in the UK are making plans to go to Florida and others making journeys to Dudley seeking for a fresh touch from God so that we can begin to move in signs and wonders.
Some of us have been digging ditches in the Valley for the past 3 years. 2Kings 3:15-18 PRAY THIS MONTH THAT GOD WILL COME AND FILL THOSE DITCHES.
USE Acts 4:24-31 as theme for your prayers.
Acts 4:29-30
9 Now, Lord, look on their threats, “Behold their threats” could read “Behold their derision, behold their apathy, their indifference, their opposition to the Gospel and grant to your servants……that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus."
One emphasis of this wave is that the children are receiving extraordinary revelations. Let us pray that that the little children will lead us. Is. 11:6
Let us pray that God will pour out His Spirit on the children and the youth in the Valley and that there will be revival amongst them.
Acts 2:17 & Joel 2:28-29
17'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
Let’s dig the well in the Valley of Praise and cry out to God for His glory and miraculous healings to fill this Valley that we may see revival break out in this nation.

24 hours a day 7 days a week Prayer for Berkhamsted
Prayer Guide No 64 – March 2008
The Servant of the Lord
“My Elect One in whom My soul delights!
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
He will not cry out, nor raise His voice,
Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
A bruised reed He will not break,
And smoking flax He will not quench;
He will bring forth justice for truth,
He will not fail nor be discouraged,
Till He has established justice in the earth,
And the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Isaiah 42:1-4
PRAY FOR THE CHURCH IN BERKHAMSTED using these Scriptures
Jesus says, “ I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven….”Matt 16:18,19
“praying always ……..that utterance may be give to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel…….that in it I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.” Eph 6:19,20
“Do not be afraid but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.” Acts 18:9,10
“you are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? You are the light of the world A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden….Let your light so shine before men…” Matt 5:13-16
pray for boldness within the church to evangelise and witness, that we wouldn’t be afraid to speak and that we would be salt and light in our society.

for unity within BBC especially for Mary Stringer at this time

Gazette February 6th, ‘following a meeting with Herts County Council officials parents have been assured that the 33 children who had been rejected from over-subscribed primary schools in Berkhamsted, would not have to make the journey to Hemel Hempstead schools, where there were surplus places.’ Pray for wisdom for local planners, for the local MP David Gauke who. Pray also for parents who are distressed about the uncertainty of their children’s schooling.
· Free psychic readings have been offered in the local paper. Pray that this offer won’t be taken up by readers, and this initiative will be a failure. Pray that those with spiritual hunger will seek the living God.
· Psychic Fayres Pray that those who organise these Fayre and those who attend would have their spiritual needs met only in Jesus Christ. Pray for a turning to Christ among those attracted to New Age philosophy.
· continue to pray for the Way Inn, for the Trustees and Directors as they make major decisions, that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
· pray for all those of other faiths who live in our postcode, for developing of good relationships and break down of misunderstandings between us.
PRAY FOR MARRIAGE
Pray for the strengthening of all marriages and families that “what God has joined together, let no man separate.” Matt 19:6

Romans 12:1-2
Jack Hayford in his book ‘Manifest Presence’ has a chapter ‘Worship: The total being made alive.’ It begins “Becoming the kind of worshipers that the Father God is looking for – those who worship Him “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24) – means that our worship will be called beyond both cerebral preoccupation and merely emotional exaggerations. It will call us to come with hearts engaged; empty ritual overthrown as our forms and formats, our liturgies and our lives become enflamed with the fire of God descending upon living sacrifices presenting acceptable sacrifice to the Lord.
May the Holy Spirit help us to come with Regenerated Spirits, Renewed Minds, Revived Emotions and Rededicated Bodies our ‘total being’ made alive to Him.

“If any of you falls short in wisdom, he should ask God for it and it will be given him, for God is a generous giver who neither refuses or reproaches anyone. But he must ask in faith, without a doubt in his mind.” James 1:5-6 NEB
Pray that God will enlighten those in medicine and health care to acknowledge the sanctity of life and serve with true integrity and compassion.
Pray for Christian scientists, academics, doctors and others who are concerned about medical ethics. Help them to discern what is right in His eyes and have the courage to speak out.
Pray that Christians in the science world will be able to integrate their scientific knowledge with the wisdom and values of their faith.
Ask God to help anyone considering an abortion as they face an unplanned pregnancy or have been told that their baby has serious disabilities. Pray that they will receive wise counsel from medical staff, counsellors, family and friends and be led by God in this difficult decision.
Prayer for the Church in the Valley As you pray for the Church in the Valley use Psalm 20 as a launching pad. Pray that the Church will not trust in its programmes but will “remember the Name of the Lord”.
Pray for Brian and Vanessa as they with other leaders endeavour to facilitate this vision that God will grant them great wisdom and inspiration. They are hoping shortly to set up a working committee for the ‘Valley of Praise’ vision as there is wisdom in many counsellors, and to share the responsibility. Col. 1:9-11
Pray for unity amongst the church leaders especially those involved in ‘Focus Herts’ and those already beginning to work together in the Chiltern Hills that others will join them in their passion for the land.
Pray for Tring
As Watchmen we want to include Tring as there have been deaths through suicide and accidents of young people. Pray for a blanket of love over Tring, and for healing of divisions in churches.
Marsworth On Mothering Sunday, 25 folks turned up at the village hall to worship and pray for the village. The worship band had musicians from 5 different churches in the area!

Valley of Praise Prayer Guide No 3

www.valleyofpraise.org
Welcome to any new readers this month!
In the midst of challenging Job about the whole creation process, God said “Who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” Job38:6-7. It would seem that God uses music and shouting for joy as an accompaniment to his creative activity. There seems to be a relationship between song and creativity. une cannot help but wonder how often God takes the songs of worship from prayer warriors in their closets and sets in motion miracles of His “new creation” workings! CS Lewis in his Chronicles of Narnia depicts Aslan creating the land of Narnia by singing it into existence.
Prayer Focus – Government
“Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Saviour God wants us to live.”1Tim. 2:2,3 (Message)
Last June, Brian had the great privilege and honour of addressing and praying for a group of Christians who had gathered together in the main senate chamber of the Houses of Parliament in Paraguay. There were representatives from many different government departments from the military to customs officials present and they were meeting for the first time to encourage one another to raise up prayer meetings in the different departments of government to pray for honesty and integrity in government and for the prosperity of the nation.
Pray for Christians working in the Parliaments and Assemblies, local and national – politicians, advisors, researchers, administrative staff and those involved in catering, maintenance and security, that God will guide and inspire them and give them increasing unity and opportunities to meet for prayer and fellowship. That they may be salt and light.
Thank God for the work of Christians in parliament (CiP), a non-denominational and official all-Party body serving as an umbrella for the diverse expression of Christian faith in Parliament.
Pray for any individuals and their families in local and national government who are facing political or personal difficulties at this time. Ask God to draw near to them and grant them wisdom, strength and courage to say and do what is best.
“God of righteousness and truth, may they never lead the nation wrongly through love of power, desire to please, or unworthy ideals; but laying aside all private interests and prejudices keep in mind their responsibility to seek to improve the condition of all mankind. Amen.” (From a prayer read in the House of Commons before each sitting.)
If you know of issues in the area that need special prayer either let us know so we can put it in the next bulletin, or post it on the web site. Don’t forget to sign into the new blog on the website and post your comments, prayer requests, testimonies etc. This prayer guide will be posted on the blog too.

BERKHAMSTED WATCHMEN ON THE WALL
BERKHAMSTED WATCHMEN ON THE WALL
24 hours a day 7 days a week Prayer for Berkhamsted
Prayer Guide No 63 – February 2008
The Tabernacle of David
“David prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it…And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God on their shoulders by its poles….Then David spoke to the leaders to appoint singers accompanied by instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, by raising the voice with resounding joy.” 1 Chron 15:1,15,16
“On that day David first delivered this psalm….
Sing to the Lord, all the earth, proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised, He is also to be feared above all gods.” 1 Chron 16:1,23-25
We sing to the Lord over Berkhamsted and proclaim the good news of His salvation every day. We declare His glory in Berkhamsted and His signs and wonders among the people. We proclaim that the Lord is great and greatly to be praised, that He is to be feared above all gods.
There is a call for more intercessors from Watford to Aylesbury, with a vision for 1000 hours of prayer and praise per month for the Valley.
If you would like to receive the prayer news for the Valley, see the attachment for more information.
PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN
There is concern regarding the oversubscribed schools in Berkhamsted with 40x 4 year olds being offered places in Hemel Hempstead. Pray for the families who are affected and the possible solution to this problem being the creation of an extra classroom at a school in Berkhamsted.
Pray for strong family relationships, especially for the relationship between fathers and their children. Pray that “the hearts of the father will turn to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” Mal 4:6
Pray for children’s workers as they reach families through the children.
Pray for the power of God to come upon the children, that they would be filled with the spirit of prayer and supplication.
PRAY FOR THE TOWN
A picture has been given of a golden cloud over the town, and another of angels flying up and down the valley.
Pray for God’s glory to fall on Berkhamsted and His presence in the Valley.
Pray for revival in Berkhamsted.
Pray for culture of forgiveness in the town, rather than offence.
Pray for new residents in Berkhamsted, that as houses are for sale, God would re-position people and bring His people to the town.
Pray for new housing, for churches to evangelize new neighbourhoods.
THE SWAN YOUTH PROJECT
Originally a church run project, the alcohol free pub at the Swan ‘has been plunged into a cash crisis after being rejected for a lottery grant.’ Gazette Jan 16th
Last year marked the 10th anniversary of the project initiated by local churches, who converted the former derelict Swan Inn, into an alcohol-free pub.
As intercessors lets stand in the gap for the Swan, and pray for God’s mercy on the project and the failure of the church to unite in its vision for the Swan.
Pray for Clare Muir who is the co-ordinator of the project, and also Lucy Bannister a trainee youth worker at NBC who has the Swan as her placement while training with Oasis Trust in London.
The Swan is a popular venue for youngsters, providing a safe alcohol and drug free venue for 12-18 year olds, running a drama group, sexual advice teen clinic, after-school drop-ins and gig nights.
A fundraising campaign has been launched, with the need for financial stability.
WAY INN
Ongoing pray is needed as Trustees and Directors consider the future vision for the Way Inn.
Pray earnestly for God’s protection of Directors and Trustees and for unity in decision-making as they seek to follow God’s leading.
The Post Office is up for sale. The options are for a buyer to take the PO off-site and the building would be used as a coffee shop/book shop and counselling rooms upstairs. Alternatively the PO would remain on-site and the leasing of the ground floor would allow for the renting of another ground floor property on the High St.
The project isn’t closing, but being modified to provide the most suitable venue for today’s church in the High St.
MARKET STALL – January 26th KRC and February 23rd NBC
pray for this important outreach in the town centre at the market stall, bringing the church onto the streets
pray for divine appointments as people chat about God
pray for ideas and way to present the gospel in creative ways
this is a town-wide church project, so pray that all the churches will catch the vision and join in this outreach opportunity
Watchmen prayer evening at Sally and Alistair McIver’s @ 7.30pm on Tuesday February 19th. This evening is a time of listening to God and praying for the town. The next town Prayer Breakfast will be at 8am on Saturday
February 15th at St Mary’s Northchurch. Please send any prayer requests or answers to Lexie Thompson, (01442 875672) or at

Prayer Guide
Valley of Praise Prayer Guide no 2
January 2008
A year of New Beginnings
A quote from Cindy Jacobs Website (generals.org) from a prophecy about 2008
Revelation. God wants to pour out new revelation on how you are to function in this season of your life. Be flexible in your life at this moment for God’s changes and adjustments to occur in your schedule and way of doing things. Wisdom. God will give you wisdom not of this world, but His heavenly wisdom if you seek Him with all of your heart: wisdom for the shift, for new ways, for new assignments, and how to apply the revelation to go to new levels in your life.
Pray for all the Christians in the Valley of Praise to have a fresh encounter with God and to move into all the New Beginnings that God has for us individually and for his Church
HOPE 2008 - see www.hope08.com for more information
Hope 2008 will see a new wave of mission across the UK in a year of united, focused prayer and activities which will communicate the good news of Jesus Christ in word and action. The dream of 2008 is to see every denomination, movement, stream and conference and people of all ages uniting in prayer, community action and outreach. Every part of the Christian church will play to their strengths and work together to make an impact on our nation.
Pray that God will inspire and anoint all the Hope 2008 initiatives up and down the valley and that they will bear fruit.
Jack Hayford in his book ‘Manifest Presence’ made these comments.
“Human worship is man beginning; holiness of worship is man becoming. Through our worship we are transformed from His sons and daughters into His Kings and Priests (see Rev. 1:6). We become ministering agents of His Kingdom assigned to extend that Kingdom on earth.
Nowhere is this truth clearer than in the keys to effective prayer that Jesus gave His disciples in Matthew 6. Without keys, things do not work. You can sit in your car as long as you want and complain that it is not moving, but you cannot drive unless you use the key.
Jesus taught us to pray first by using the key of our restored access through relationship to God- “Our Father in heaven”- followed by our worship of Him: “Hallowed be Your Name”. Then His prayer extends the invitation of His presence and dominion: “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. When we pray in the manner that Jesus taught His disciples, we are, first with worship, reaching into the invisible realm, then on the grounds of that worship, welcoming the entry of His divine authority, ruler ship and power into this world.”
Prayer Focus - Education – one of the mind moulders of our society
Pray for the leaders of the education systems in Herts and Bucks, the staff in our schools from caretakers to head teachers, for governors and advisors that they have wisdom and make God honouring decisions and behave before the pupils in positive helpful ways.
Ask God to enable those teaching religious education, personal, social and health education (PSHE) and other lessons that seek to enlighten and encourage pupils to lead fulfilling, healthy lives, to communicate truth and give wise advice.
Pray for Christian school staff, governors, advisors and those who are invited to lead assemblies, contribute lessons and engage in pastoral care and Christian activities. Ask God to help them to live out their faith and demonstrate the love of Christ in all they say and do.
Praise Night in Tring
On the first Sunday of the year we held a great praise & worship night in the Victoria Hall. There were representatives from at least 8 different churches in the area and Brian spoke on the kind of worship that ushers in His Presence that we need so desperately, because the Presence brings the blessing.
Praise nights in Cheddington and Marsworth
We are planning similar special events in Cheddington Village Hall at 6.30pm on 3rd February and Marsworth Village Hall at 4.30pm on 2nd March
We still meet the first Friday of the month in Pitstone Memorial Hall at 8pm for worship and prayer for The Valley and we are commencing bi-monthly 4hour prayer meetings at Haven house, Hemel Hempstead beginning Saturday 9th Feb from 6.00pm – 10.00pm.
Our new website valleyofpraise.org is nearly finished – please feel free to visit it. Please send prayer requests or answers to prayer to Vanessa and Brian at enquiries@valleyofpraise.org
