Prayer Guide for March and April

Prayer Guide for March and April

THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO LOSE HEART!

“The story of your life is the story of the long and brutal assault on your heart by the one who knows what you could be and fears it.” ‘Waking the Dead’ John Eldredge

Let us pray this month that the Body of Christ may be reminded that they are a people of destiny and that each has a unique part to play in God’s scheme of things in the area He has placed them. May they be assured that while the battle around them is fierce, they will not lose heart and that we win!

PRAY THAT FAITH WILL ARISE AND FEAR DEFEATED

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. ”Psalm 9:10. “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Psalm 56:3

In this time ‘when men’s hearts are failing them for fear’ of unemployment, insufficient funds, health issues, of what is happening to their children’s education, etc. God’s people will rise in faith to the challenge of the hour and let their light shine before men.

Let’s keep praying and declaring the scriptures that God has given us for the Valley

Isaiah 40 v 1-5
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill brought low, the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth, the glory of the lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’
Psalm 84:5-7
Blessed in the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage as they pass through the valley of Baca, they make it a spring, the rain also covers it with pools and they go from strength to strength each one appears before God in Zion.

Hos 2:14-17 -
Behold I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness and speak comfort to her, I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor as a door of hope, she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she cam up from the land of Egypt.

2 Kings 3:15-18 -
Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. 16 And he said, "Thus says the Lord: 'Make this valley full of ditches.' 17 For thus says the Lord: 'You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.' 18 And this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord;

Let’s declare God’s heartbeat for the Valley

Vision for the Valley of Praise - An Earth Gate – A Sound Portal

I see the Valley as a ‘Thin place’ – like Iona – Lindisfarne – like Sinai where Moses and later Elijah encountered God, a thin place where there is little barrier between heaven and earth.
A portal – a window – a gate of heaven – a vortex of God’s blessing.

When Jacob met with God at Bethel and saw the angels ascending and descending, he said “This is the house of God the gate of heaven”

People will move house into this Valley and turn to God in a way they could never do before they moved here.

People will move here and get healed, physically, emotionally, spiritually. Marriages will be restored.

Visitors to this area will have visions and dreams. They will come in depressed and go out rejoicing. They will come in weary and go out refreshed and invigorated.

They will come lacking direction and they will go away with clear sense of God’s purposes for them and with a clear vision of how to go about the Father’s business. Young people will know to which university to make application.

The Valley will be like the land of Goshen that missed the Egyptian plagues Ex. 8:22, business will move to the valley to prosper.

In the valley people will find it easier to worship. There will be a freedom of praise and worship in the churches not found elsewhere.

The incidence of promiscuity, addictions and crime will fall – education and business will thrive.

There will be more singing, laughing and whistling than anywhere else in the UK and the blessing of God will flow out of the valley like a river into the Aylesbury Vale, London and to the nations.

There will be a fecundity that will birth many new Kingdom ministries and businesses and there will be an acceleration of God’s purposes on the earth.

IS ALL THIS REALLY POSSIBLE? CAN THIS BE? IS THIS JUST CRAZY TALK? Silly day dreaming? A laughable idea?

WITH GOD THE IMPOSSIBLE DOES NOT EXIST! “Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” Psalm 81:10
JESUS taught us to pray, “Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”
This Valley is the piece of geography that God has called us to pray heaven down.

February Prayer Guide

Valley of Praise Prayer Guide
February 09

Dear Friends,
We trust you are experiencing times of refreshing from His Presence. Lam3:25-26
Lam 3:25-26
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the Lord.

New Faith levels in 2009
Mark 11:22 is a key verse concerning faith. Peter had just observed the withering of the fig tree which Jesus had cursed the previous day
Jesus answer to Peter’s amazement, as it is written in most of our Bibles, is “Have faith in God.” Unfortunately that is poor translation from the Greek, it should read “Have the faith of God.”

Jesus was not asking the disciples to somehow manufacture faith by their own efforts. He knew they could not generate faith themselves. Jesus was saying, “Listen, God has perfect faith and is willing to give it to you as a free gift. If you learn how to receive it, you will have God’s faith. With His faith you can speak to mountains or to fig trees and see them obey.”

Let us pray for the Church in the area that it rises to new heights of faith in the face of all the challenges that the world presents at this time. It is truly time for “the revealing of the sons of God.” Rom8:19

The following is a prayer that Billy Graham gave recently on a radio station in the USA which received the largest response of any item in the stations history. We thought we could use it ourselves this month!

‘Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbour’s possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honoured values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, O God and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. In the name of the Jesus Christ we pray. Amen!”

We have our monthly “Harp and Bowl at Pitstone Memorial Hall this Friday 6th Feb. Come and join us!

Our next H&B at Hemel Hempstead is 28th March!

Prayer Guide January 2009

PRAYER FOCUS FOR January 2009

Dear Praying Friends,

May you have great joy before the throne in 2009, see His leading and enabling in every way.

Business in the Valley during this economic recession

When we held our Conference in November, Gordon Hickson (Rachels husband, who is the vicar of St Aldates in Oxford) came for a brief while towards in end of the conference. In the conference, God showed him that The Valley would be like the land of Goshen (Gen. 47:27) ‘So Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly.’ Israel settled in Egypt and escaped the plagues (Ex. 8:22 and 9:26 ) that came upon the Egyptians.

We need to pray that the prophetic word will become a reality in the Valley and that business will ‘buck the trend’ and will prosper and that businesses will move into the area to enjoy the blessing.

New things in 2009

Isaiah 43:18

Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.

In these momentous days in which we live, pray that God’s people will be ready and willing to experience God working in ways that are outside of ‘the box’ of their past experience! While in the world it may be the worst of times, in the Kingdom of God we can experience the best of times. It is time for the saints to rise up into new levels of faith.

We know that the dating of the calendar is not divinely inspired and yet God can use man made dates to perform His purposes. We feel that the number 9 in 2009 is somehow significant in that there are the 9 gifts of the Spirit, 9 fold fruit of the Spirit. We feel that God wants to complete, bring to maturity, some of the work He has been doing in the area of character and gifting in our lives, so that we can move into far greater fruitfulness for Him. Also there are some projects in the Church and in business that have been launched, that to date are not well grounded and could easily go either way, that will see proper foundations laid for future development this year.

If you relate to this personally or see some of these things in the Church, pray this into being.
