Valley of Praise Prayer Guide
February 09
Dear Friends,
We trust you are experiencing times of refreshing from His Presence. Lam3:25-26
Lam 3:25-26
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the Lord.
New Faith levels in 2009
Mark 11:22 is a key verse concerning faith. Peter had just observed the withering of the fig tree which Jesus had cursed the previous day
Jesus answer to Peter’s amazement, as it is written in most of our Bibles, is “Have faith in God.” Unfortunately that is poor translation from the Greek, it should read “Have the faith of God.”
Jesus was not asking the disciples to somehow manufacture faith by their own efforts. He knew they could not generate faith themselves. Jesus was saying, “Listen, God has perfect faith and is willing to give it to you as a free gift. If you learn how to receive it, you will have God’s faith. With His faith you can speak to mountains or to fig trees and see them obey.”
Let us pray for the Church in the area that it rises to new heights of faith in the face of all the challenges that the world presents at this time. It is truly time for “the revealing of the sons of God.” Rom8:19
The following is a prayer that Billy Graham gave recently on a radio station in the USA which received the largest response of any item in the stations history. We thought we could use it ourselves this month!
‘Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbour’s possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honoured values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, O God and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. In the name of the Jesus Christ we pray. Amen!”
We have our monthly “Harp and Bowl at Pitstone Memorial Hall this Friday 6th Feb. Come and join us!
