Join us in Prayer for the Valley?

Will you join us in raising 1000 hours a month of Prayer and Praise For The Valley!

That such praise will arise, that together, we usher in His Presence!
“He is stirring hearts to worship because He is standing in the wings waiting to come on centre stage”. Bill Johnson

“We are going to see it happen, see the Kingdom of God arrive in full force” Mk 9:1 Message

We are looking for those who will spend an hour per week in prayer and praise for the Valley, praying for the seven mind moulders of society that shape the way people live and think:-

Business, Science and Medicine,
Education, Government and Politics,
The Church, Family, Arts/Entertainment/Sport

We are praying that these mountains of influence will be invaded by Kingdom orientated people for the transformation of society; That they will invade with integrity, creativity and excellence.

Will you give one hour per week to prayer and praise for the Valley?

If you would like to be a part of this initiative, please respond to this email and we will keep you posted with regular prayer bulletins.

We also need you to keep us informed of what is happening in your area, so that
others can pray too.

The Valley of Praise - Prayer and Praise Bulletin 1
Dec 07

What is God doing?

Be a co-worker with Christ 1Cor.3:9 and 2Cor.6:1
So what is God doing today? In what way should we cooperate with Him?
In Habakkuk the prophet surveys a situation where violence, broken relationships and injustice prevail. Habakkuk cries to the Lord to bring revival to His people, but God seems asleep and doesn’t seem to answer. Into this situation God speaks: “I am doing something in your day that you would not believe even if you were told”. The prophet is looking in the wrong direction. God is not working among Habakkuk’s own people, but among the gentiles.

Today too, God is moving in new ways and doing a great work, but we often won’t believe it ‘even if we are told’!

In Great Britain, the main growth of the church is among the ethnic minorities. Some of the largest congregations are West African or other black churches and most large churches in the country are filled with multi ethnic peoples.

There are now more active Anglicans in Nigeria than in the USA, Canada, Britain, Australasia and S. Africa put together. There are now more active Reformed Christians in Korea or in Indonesia than in all Europe. (Taken from Martin Goldsmith’s writings.)

Let us co-work with God this month and pray that He will work mightily amongst the ethnic minorities in our valley.

Let’s pray that the voice of God will be heard in the valley. God’s voice will be heard as we praise and pray His word – remember this is the Valley of Praise so we encourage you to praise over the valley too.

Psalm 29 declares that
Ps 29:3-4

3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The LORD is over many waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful;
The voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

Let’s pray that the God of glory will thunder down this valley and that His voice will be heard above everything else and that He will fill this valley with his glory.

1. Pray for strength and refreshment for the intercessors that they will arise to the challenge of 1000 hours of prayer a month. The vision is to see the valley covered by 24/7 prayer.

2. Pray for the website for the Valley of Praise which is under construction to really be effective and glorify God.

3. Pray for this season of Christmas up and down the valley that many folk will hear the true Gospel and respond to Christ this Christmas.

4. Pray for all the initiatives that are going on over this season to be filled with God’s spirit and to be an effective witness of the true meaning of Christmas.

5. Pray that the Valley will blossom as a rose and that wilderness will be filled with living water and rivers of life

6. Pray for those who are weary that God will refresh them and strengthen them.

Isa 35:1-4

The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,
And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice,
Even with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the LORD,
The excellency of our God.

3 Strengthen the weak hands,
And make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
"Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you."

Let’s thank God for all He has done in 2007 – which is the year of completion
Let’s pray that God will prepare us for 2008 – which is the year of New Beginnings and that next year we will see the harvest that He has promised.

Nonnie McVeigh, Head of Aglow International UK London Nov 2007 prophesied of a wave of revival coming over the nation, the UK is poised for a great awakening, a new reformation. She saw a tsunami of God on the streets. The Kingdom of God is going to be displayed on the street, people will be saved in supermarkets, the work place. Miracles will take place on the streets. This is the tsunami. God’s power is going to be manifest in the nation.

Thank you so much for being part of this vision of the Valley of Praise – May God bless you as you pray for this region. Please let us know any insights you may have regarding this region or indeed events or prayer requests that you need covered.

Every blessing for this Christmas and New Year

Valley of Praise Prayer Guide no 2
January 2008
A year of New Beginnings

A quote from Cindy Jacobs Website (generals.org) from a prophecy about 2008

Revelation. God wants to pour out new revelation on how you are to function in this season of your life. Be flexible in your life at this moment for God’s changes and adjustments to occur in your schedule and way of doing things. Wisdom. God will give you wisdom not of this world, but His heavenly wisdom if you seek Him with all of your heart: wisdom for the shift, for new ways, for new assignments, and how to apply the revelation to go to new levels in your life.

Pray for all the Christians in the Valley of Praise to have a fresh encounter with God and to move into all the New Beginnings that God has for us individually and for his Church

HOPE 2008 - see www.hope08.com for more information

Hope 2008 will see a new wave of mission across the UK in a year of united, focused prayer and activities which will communicate the good news of Jesus Christ in word and action. The dream of 2008 is to see every denomination, movement, stream and conference and people of all ages uniting in prayer, community action and outreach. Every part of the Christian church will play to their strengths and work together to make an impact on our nation.

Pray that God will inspire and anoint all the Hope 2008 initiatives up and down the valley and that they will bear fruit.

Jack Hayford in his book ‘Manifest Presence’ made these comments.
“Human worship is man beginning; holiness of worship is man becoming. Through our worship we are transformed from His sons and daughters into His Kings and Priests (see Rev. 1:6). We become ministering agents of His Kingdom assigned to extend that Kingdom on earth.

Nowhere is this truth clearer than in the keys to effective prayer that Jesus gave His disciples in Matthew 6. Without keys, things do not work. You can sit in your car as long as you want and complain that it is not moving, but you cannot drive unless you use the key.

Jesus taught us to pray first by using the key of our restored access through relationship to God- “Our Father in heaven”- followed by our worship of Him: “Hallowed be Your Name”. Then His prayer extends the invitation of His presence and dominion: “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. When we pray in the manner that Jesus taught His disciples, we are, first with worship, reaching into the invisible realm, then on the grounds of that worship, welcoming the entry of His divine authority, ruler ship and power into this world.”

Prayer Focus - Education – one of the mind moulders of our society

Pray for the leaders of the education systems in Herts and Bucks, the staff in our schools from caretakers to head teachers, for governors and advisors that they have wisdom and make God honouring decisions and behave before the pupils in positive helpful ways.

Ask God to enable those teaching religious education, personal, social and health education (PSHE) and other lessons that seek to enlighten and encourage pupils to lead fulfilling, healthy lives, to communicate truth and give wise advice.

Pray for Christian school staff, governors, advisors and those who are invited to lead assemblies, contribute lessons and engage in pastoral care and Christian activities. Ask God to help them to live out their faith and demonstrate the love of Christ in all they say and do.

Praise Night in Tring
On the first Sunday of the year we held a great praise & worship night in the Victoria Hall. There were representatives from at least 8 different churches in the area and Brian spoke on the kind of worship that ushers in His Presence that we need so desperately, because the Presence brings the blessing.

Praise nights in Cheddington and Marsworth
We are planning similar special events in Cheddington Village Hall at 6.30pm on 3rd February and Marsworth Village Hall at 4.30pm on 2nd March

We still meet the first Friday of the month in Pitstone Memorial Hall at 8pm for worship and prayer for The Valley and we are commencing bi-monthly 4hour prayer meetings at Haven house, Hemel Hempstead beginning Saturday 9th Feb from 6.00pm – 10.00pm.

Our new website valleyofpraise.org is nearly finished – please feel free to visit it. Please send prayer requests or answers to prayer to Vanessa and Brian at enquiries@valleyofpraise.org
